National AI Office (NAIO)

Stood up under the Ministry of Digital (Dec 2024) to coordinate the country's AI agenda — adoption frameworks, a national code of ethics, and the AI Technology Action Plan 2026–2030.

AIGE — 7 Principles

Malaysia's National Guidelines on AI Governance & Ethics (MOSTI, Sep 2024) set seven principles for responsible, human-centred AI — the rulebook a state CoE can enforce locally.

Perlis is already building AI

The 600-acre Bandar Teknologi Maju Perlis in Chuping will host an AI data centre & HPC — a reported ~RM49b pipeline and ~2,000 long-term tech jobs.

The infrastructure is coming. The governance, literacy and use-cases must arrive with it — that is the Centre of Excellence.
